DTF stands for Direct-to-Film. Your artwork is printed onto a specialized transfer film using high-quality DTF inks, coated with a heat-activated adhesive powder, and cured into a ready-to-press transfer. When applied with a standard heat press, the design bonds directly to the fabric — producing a soft, flexible finish that feels like part of the garment rather than sitting on top of it.

Most DTF setups operate on a 4-color ink system. Ink Bomb Society runs an 8-color DTF printer — one of the first of its kind in Canada. The additional ink channels produce a significantly wider colour gamut, allowing us to reproduce brand colours with greater accuracy, render smooth gradients without banding, and achieve fine detail that holds at small print sizes. Transparent backgrounds ensure clean transfer edges with no visible background area when pressed onto fabric.
All artwork should be at 300 DPI at the intended print size. Low-resolution files result in pixelated or blurry transfers.
Submit files in CMYK for the most accurate colour reproduction. White ink for dark garment designs is handled during production.
All text should be converted to outlines before saving. Prevents font substitution if the typeface is not embedded.
